Between now and our next round of classes, we'll be teaching drop-in workshops: Monday nights at 7pm, starting November 23. It's just $15 for grown-upish people, and $10 with student ID. Drop-ins are open to anyone who has taken any of our classes.

AND our next session of classes start right after the New Year. Clay's 101 class will start Monday, January 11, and Eric is back for 201 on Tuesday, January 12. Register now!

Saturday, April 25, at noon sharp

To hold a spot, please see our Facebook event BEFORE THURSDAY, APRIL 23, and (carefully) follow the instructions in the description. The audition will begin at 12 sharp and last about 2 hours—you'll be expected to be there the whole time. If we feel like we need to call anyone back, that will happen the next day (Sunday) at noon. 

What we're looking for: 

• Confident improvisers with great energy and strong stage presence. 
• Fun, fearless, ego-free performers who play well with others and love to keep learning. 
• Improv and theater experience are helpful—we hope to find players who are ready to jump on stage with our troupe fairly quickly. 

COMPLETELY OPTIONAL Audition Prep Workshop

Ready to go back to school?

ComedyCity Improv School is in session.

Have you ever seen an improv show and thought, "That seems super-fun" or "I'd love to try it" or "I could do that"? This is your moment.

ComedyCity Improv School works like this:

• Everyone starts with ComedyCity Improv 101: The Basics, where you'll work on listening, give and take, working as a team, agreement, and building on ideas.
• After you've got the basics down, it's time for our scenework classes, Improv 201. You'll learn how to create characters, relationships, and environments—as well as focus on dialogue that moves the scene forward.
• Our advanced class, Improv 301, is about improving and enhancing your craft as an improviser. You'll learn new tools and approaches for building scenes and characters, and exploring the space.
• Classes are 8 weeks long each, and run two and a half hours.
• Classes cost $125—register early and save $25.
• Classes are open to students 18 and older. We encourage younger students to look into the Seriously Playful high school improv league.

More questions? OK. 

• What makes ComedyCity different? We use improv games to teach improv skills. Our instructors are experienced in both short- and long-form improv, and the techniques you'll learn will apply to both. And right from the start, we'll work on performance skills so you feel confident and have fun in front of an audience.
• Do I have to start at the beginning? There are as many different ways to approach improv as there are troupes, and we want to get everyone on the same page with our philosophy right from the start. Everyone starts with 101—even if you've taken multiple levels with other improv schools. 
• Seriously? I have mad skillz. Seriously. Starting from the, you know, start will get you in sync with other students. You'll have the same reference points, vocabulary and background as you move through the program. And the teachers get to know you so they can give you more specific and personal feedback. 
• Are these the only classes you teach? Nope. We offer occasional weekend intensives, coaching and performance classes, and workshops with visiting improvisers. Watch our Facebook page for details.
